How does the food I feed affect my maintenance regime?

The quality of the food you feed directly affects the amount of waste your koi produce. Poor quality foods can lead to faster accumulation of nitrate and phosphate, which in turn encourage algae to grow. Algae require physical removal or treatment, whilst more rapid nitrate and phosphate accumulation will necessitate more frequent water changes. Poor quality foods also result in more solid waste being produced, which settles to the base of the pond or gets caught in the filter system. This means it needs to be physically removed more often, by cleaning the filter and pump, or vacuuming the base of the pond.

Because KoiExcellence has been formulated to minimise waste production, in turn it will help to limit the amount of maintenance you need to do with your pond.
